You wouldn't go to the human society or a breeder to pick out a dog and then just cross your fingers and *hope* you got a "good dog," would you?
That would be ridiculous. Dogs do not come potty trained, knowing obedience commands, or differentiating Coach bags from Kong toys *out of the box.*
It requires strong leadership, consistent and clear training, and a dedicated investment of TIME to train a dog to get the desired result, which is a canine that doesn't bite the mailman, hump your guests, piss on your Christmas tree, and eat your Nikes.
We've all heard the phrase, "Bad dogs aren't born, they're made!" (and if not, you need to catch up on your Cesar Milan).
The same is true for hiring and developing salespeople for your roofing company.
If you're entertaining this fantasy that if you just "find" enough of the "right people," you can shortcut and bypass the entire training and management thing and you'll be done, you're wrong.
You're going to give up a lot of dogs for adoptio--I mean lose a lot of potentially great roof sales reps that COULD have been rockstars with the proper formal sales training.
